Egyptian Pikeman, weapon at the ready.
Pikemen are the heavy infantry of Imperial Warfare, able to hold their own against Cavaliers but unable to match the fleet feet and quick strikes of Footmen. As they are units slightly more advanced than Footmen, they can be recruited only once a player reaches the Dark??? Age.
Like their smaller and faster Footmen cousins, Pikemen are recruited at the Barracks in the City and fall into four classes of increasing prowess: Normal, Elite, Guard, and Imperial. Enabling the recruitment of higher classes requires Barracks upgrades and a variety of research upgrades at the Military Affairs Center.
